Design Architect: Ar. Ahmed Nurul Hasan Sakkhor

This is a project from Barishal, which a religious dormitory. The project client is Brothers of Holly Cross. In 2020 we started designing the project during the covid time. The project is situated in between a highly religious area & a missionary school compound. While designing the project, we tried to create a space of living by compiling the residential & religious aspects. The design team was concern to presences of natural light & air. The prayer area of this building is one of the most active space, that is why we tried to introduce wall flash natural lighting as a define symbol of purification. The punched roof of living area enhanced the environment with the emphasis of natural sunlight. We, the design team tried to introduce local materials as much as we can. All of the non-structural wall of this building was made by local brick. The flash brick facade & interior wall make a different essence, which is more natural & local. In this project we tried to ensure the essence of tradition, religion & nature.
