The interior design project for BRAC University's new permanent campus aims to create a dynamic, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment that fosters productivity, collaboration, and comfort. The design concept revolves around a minimal contemporary style infused with locally sourced materials and furniture, harmonizing with the architectural elements of the building, particularly its diagonal structure. The scope includes designing workstations for faculties, a cafeteria, administration offices, daycare facilities, and a welcoming reception area.
Workstation Design: The workstation area is predominantly open, fostering collaboration and interaction among faculty members. Locally made workstation furniture are utilized to support sustainability initiatives and showcase local craftsmanship. The layout has incorporated the diagonal structure of the building, enhancing spatial dynamics and visual interest.
Cafeteria: The cafeteria has features of interesting furniture and seating arrangements to create a vibrant and inviting space for students and faculty to dine, socialize, and relax. The design prioritizes comfort and functionality while incorporating elements that reflect the university's identity and culture.
Daycare Facilities: The daycare area has been designed to provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children of faculty and staff. Bright colors, interactive elements, and age-appropriate furniture has been incorporated to encourage learning and play.
Reception Area: The reception area serves as the gateway to the campus, welcoming visitors and providing information and assistance. The design reflects the university's identity and values, creating a positive first impression for guests and visitors.
